Building history – Stradomska 7
The building at 7 Stradomska Street is an integral part of the historic fabric of Krakow — a place where routes from the Old Town to Kazimierz and further towards the southern suburbs have intersected for centuries. Stradom, as an area of exceptional communication and commercial significance, has been developing intensively since the Middle Ages, retaining its unique urban character to this day. Historical studies show that the area of today's development once housed economic facilities — including a brewery and a granary — located between later-built tenement houses. In the second half of the 19th century, this area was transformed and gradually built up with residential tenement houses with commercial premises on the ground floors, which was typical for this part of the city. The tenement house at 7 Stradomska witnessed centuries of urban and social changes in this part of Krakow. Its architectural form and location fit into the traditional layout of inner-city development characteristic of historic Krakow — with a clear connection between residential and commercial functions. Within the building itself, there was a commercial space on the ground floor, the layout and details of which were modified over the years, reflecting the changing needs of the city and its inhabitants.
Over the years, the building has served various roles, adapting to the successive stages of development of Stradomia and Krakow. Today, after careful adaptation, Stradonia Serviced Apartments combines respect for the historical heritage of the place with a modern approach to comfort and functionality. The preserved scale of the building, proportions, and relationship with the surrounding urban space make Stradomska 7 a natural element of the landscape of this part of Krakow — a place where the city's history meets contemporary lifestyle.
